Visit to Singapore

As a part of the Centre's outreach efforts, CCA Director Sam Bidwell was fortunate enough to travel to Singapore in May 2023 for a series of one-to-one meetings with key Singaporean stakeholders, alongside an appearance at the Royal Commonwealth Society Asia-Pacific Conference 2023. You can find out more about the week's activities below. The trip proved successful in helping to build the Centre's profile in Asia, and provided a number of informative perspectives on how the Commonwealth can better deliver value for its member states.

15:00: Meeting with Dep. Sec. and Fmr. High Commissioner to the UK, Foo Chi Hsia, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 'The UK's Indo-Pacific Tilt'

All day: RCS Asia-Pacific Conference, including short address on the new Centre for Commonwealth Affairs

May 21st
All day: Finding out about urban eco-design at the Gardens By The Bay

May 22nd
All day: Fact-finding mission to Johor Bahru, including engagement with representatives of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association

Travel to London via Bahrain
