In support of the Centre's programme of research work, CCA Director Sam Bidwell and Advisory Board Member Abimbola Okoya undertook a visit to Nigeria, engaging a broad range of stakeholders with a view towards producing tangible recommendations for building closer ties between Nigeria and the UK.

Pakistan Flood Relief Roundtable
June 27th 2023
With relief efforts ongoing, the Centre brought together key stakeholders and experts to discuss the Commonwealth's response to flooding in Pakistan. The discussion proved fruitful, with plenty of engagement from Pakistan's High Commission in London.

Visit to Singapore
May 17th to May 23rd 2023
As a part of the Centre's outreach efforts, CCA Director Sam Bidwell travelled to Singapore to better understand the role of the Commonwealth in Asia. Alongside an appearance at the RCS Asia-Pacific Conference, the Centre was fortunate enough to secure meetings with key figures in Government and the private sector.

African Geopolitics Panel
April 24th 2023
The Centre's first digital discussion panel, 'The Return of Geopolitics: Which Way Forward for Commonwealth Africa?', concerned the evolving geopolitical picture in Africa. Discussion was led by Joseph Hammond of the Commonwealth Africa Initiative, Freddie Woolland of the Commonwealth Security Group, Dr Samuel Ikome Sako of the Ambazonia Foundation, and Christine Odera of the Kenyan National Youth Service.

Westminster Launch Reception

The Centre was delighted to welcome MPs, members of the House of Lords, High Commissioners, and eminent figures from the Commonwealth advocacy community to our Westminster launch reception. Guests were treated to speeches from Andrew Mitchell MP (UK Minister for International Development), and Lord Howell of Guildford.
