On the margins of Commonwealth Day celebrations in London, the Centre was proud to host two members of The Gambia's National Assembly for a roundtable discussion on the future of Africa and the Commonwealth.

The Centre was delighted to welcome Modou Lamin Bah (Banjul North, United Democratic Party) and Saikou Bah (Basse, National People's Party) to the House of Lords, as a part of their visit to the UK.

Hosted by Baroness Verma, and in conjunction with the Commonwealth Africa Initiative, the discussion focused on The Gambia's transition to democracy, its reengagement with the Commonwealth, and the need for closer UK involvement in The Gambia's development. 

The roundtable made front page news in The Gambia, where national newspaper, 'The Standard' covered the visit.
